LONGHOUSE SUBMISION GRAPPLING
RASH-GUARD DESIGN
The Longhouse submission grappling studio in Flint, Michigan, draws its branding from Norse mythological themes. For this rashguard design, the concept centers on Hugin and Munin, Odin's ravens of profound symbolic significance. Hugin represents 'memory' while Munin embodies 'thought'. These ravens were considered integral to Odin, acting as his eyes and ears in the world - venturing out to explore and returning to share their insights. In the background, the Vegvisir - a Norse navigational compass symbol - reinforces themes of guidance, direction, and spiritual wayfinding, creating a rich visual narrative that connects the mythological symbolism with the studio's identity.

Back
Norse traditional tattoo designs offered a rich visual source of inspiration for the Longhouse rashguard, featuring powerful mythological motifs like crows (Hugin and Munin), Jörmungandr (the world serpent), and wolves. These symbols embody core Norse mythological narratives of transformation, cosmic interconnectedness, and primal strength, perfectly aligning with the studio's thematic interests and branding approach.
